Submission Guidelines

Please read the guidelines and regulations carefully before submitting your film

  • Short film submission content must aim to share ideas about water awareness and solutions and to inspire action or allow for replication of water solutions in different parts of the world. Short film submissions should have a strong link to water awareness, solutions, and actions in Latin America and the Caribbean.
  • Filmmakers are encouraged to work under the advice of a scientist or a science student, so the work reflects science-based content. Participants sharing one entry will be considered co-authors.
  • We encourage collaboration and co-creation among students in film, video, and visual arts, filmmakers, hydrologists, ecologists, geographers, social scientists, activists, and more, in the production of a science-based water film.
  • Short films may come in different genres and styles and use various techniques of capturing sound and image in under 3 minutes. Be creative and concise.
  • Submission is free of charge.
  • What is the submission deadline?
Submissions are open from April 9th, 2024. The contest closes on August 30th, 2024.
